Sting again extends summer trek with Royal Philharmonic

For the second time this month, Sting has expanded his plans for a summer arena tour alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Since last check, the legendary performer has tacked another nine shows onto his itinerary, which kicks off June 2 in Vancouver and runs through a July 30 show in Bethel, NY. New stops include Seattle (6/2), Salt Lake City (6/10), Dallas (6/26) and Atlantic City (7/9), among others. The full list of dates is shown at right.

Tickets for most shows go on sale beginning Monday (3/15); more information about ticket sales is available via Sting's website.

During the outing, Sting--who will be backed by the 45-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra--will perform both solo material and his hits with The Police, including "Roxanne," "Next to You," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "Every Breath You Take" and "Desert Rose," among others.

"I'm delighted by this new opportunity to tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and reinterpret the songs I've been playing for many years," Sting said in a press release.

Sting will also be joined by a quartet consisting of guitarist Dominic Miller, multi-percussionist David Cossin, vocalist Jo Lawry and bassist Ira Coleman.

Last year, Sting unveiled "If On a Winter's Night...," which peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 album chart and has since been certified gold.
