Indie UK fest 'Truck' heads to US

The Truck Festival is launching its first US installment April 30-May 2 in Upstate New York at the Full Moon Resort in the Catskill Mountains.

The first Truck America Festival will feature indie bands from both sides of the pond, including Mercury Rev, White Rabbits, Hopewell, Tim Easton, The Joy Formidable, Ida, Neil Halstead and The Sadies, among others, according to a press release.

In addition to live music presented on three stages, the Truck fest will feature workshops, film screenings, kids activities, jam sessions and camping; the Full Moon Resort also offers a range of rooms to rent for those who would prefer non-camping accommodations.

The Truck festival has run for the past 13 years in Oxfordshire, UK, on the principles of independence and ethically minded cooperative production, with a passion for introducing cutting-edge music as well as a reverential nod back to the classics, according to event organizers. Past participants include Supergrass, The Lemonheads, Regina Spektor, The Raveonettes, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Fanfarlo, YACHT and The Big Pink, among others.

Additional information about the US fest is available at the event's website.
