Bret Michaels to unleash 'Roses & Thorns'
Poison frontman Bret Michaels will take to the road next month for a slew of performances ahead of his forthcoming album, "Custom Built."
The Pennsylvania native, who will be one of 14 contestants on the upcoming season of "The Celebrity Apprentice," will jump start the "Roses & Thorns" outing with a gig March 7 at Borderfest in Hidalgo, TX, before heading north. So far, the schedule comprises 26 performances scattered throughout the nation, including a two-night stand March 30-31 in Milwaukee and two same-day gigs April 9 in Ardmore, OK. The full slate of concerts is shown at right.
"Custom Built," Michaels' forthcoming solo album, is set to hit shelves later this year, according to a note posted on his Facebook page. The album's lead single, "Lie to Me," is currently available for download via iTunes.
Michaels' most recent release, "Rock My World," surfaced in 2008; the set peaked at No. 40 on The Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart. The effort's release coincided with the second season of his "Rock of Love" reality dating show on VH1.
The musician/reality-TV star, who was injured last summer during his performance with Poison at the 63rd annual Tony Awards, will return to televisions nationwide when the next season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" begins March 14 on NBC.
