Chris Botti Gallery Spotlight: Seattle, WA - Feb. 6, 2010

Trumpeter Chris Botti seems to be bridging a chasm between the popular mainstream music of today and the classic jazz genre.

His new set titled "Italia" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart and quickly nabbed a Grammy nomination for best Pop Instrumental Album. It's no wonder such established artists as Sting, Steven Tyler, Yo-Yo Ma and Josh Groban have lined up to perform alongside the horn player in recent months.

Currently, Botti is in the middle of an epic outing that runs through May 15. Tonight through Saturday (2/11-2/13) he will be at Renee & Henry in Costa Mesa, CA. Last weekend (2/6) SoundSpike photographer Kirk Stauffer attended Botti's show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA, and here are some highlights.
