Hank Williams III lines up new Assjack dates

Hank Williams III has mapped a transitional winter/spring tour with his punk-metal outfit, Assjack, as the band continues to support its self-titled debut from last summer.

The trek, which kicks off March 12 in New Orleans, will concentrate on the western half of the nation, with several dates in Texas--including shows in Houston (3/113) and San Antonio (3/14)--before moving on to the West Coast. The outing wraps April 10 in Denver. Dates are at right.

"It's a country show, and then the hellbilly and Assjack," Williams told Live Daily in a November interview. "There might be a couple of new songs, but it's the same vibe. The same energy. It's a long damn show. It's almost a two-and-a-half to three-hour show.

"The people that have seen me in the past know what to expect. To the people that have never seen us before, I would just recommend don't wear open-toed shoes and be ready to be around some rowdy people. It's always a lot of good energy."

Last summer, Williams released his first full-fledged album with Assjack, a self-titled set that surfaced in August, featuring tracks like tracks like "Redneck Ride," "Wasting Away" and "No Regrets." Another solo country set, "The Rebel Within," is due later this year, and will be Williams' last release on his current contract with Curb Records.

"I'm getting ready to turn in my last record for Curb, and I'm getting ready to be a free man and start all over--DIY," he said. "I'm looking forward to actually having the opportunity to play with musicians and not have to tell a lawyer, 'I want to go jam with this friend of mine and we're going to go make a record.'"
