Noel Gallagher plans solo gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust

Noel Gallagher--who hasn't performed a public show since Oasis split last August--returns to the stage next month for the 10th annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert series at London's Royal Albert Hall. Gallagher, who appeared with Oasis at the first TCT benefit, will perform two nights during the series, March 26-27, according to a statement at the event website.

The 10th-annual fundraiser, which is the brainchild of TCT patron Roger Daltrey, will feature Depeche Mode on opening night (2/17), followed by a nine-night series of shows March 22-30 with headline performances by Them Crooked Vultures, Arctic Monkeys, Suede, The Specials and The Who; comedians Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding and Rhod Gilbert will share the stage for comedy night.

This year's TCT series also will include a pop-music night with "X-Factor's" JLS on March 28. Daltrey told The Sun he has wanted to feature a big pop act for years despite the fact that some may question the decision. "Music snobs might turn their noses up but there's no place for [that attitude] in the business," he said. "Kids have to start somewhere and JLS are for young people."

Additional details about concerts and the charity are available at the TCT website.
