Randy Travis keeps on 'Around the Bend'
Country crooner Randy Travis will spend much of the spring on the tour trail with his full band as he continues working the road behind 2008's "Around the Bend."
The North Carolina native will kick off the trek with a March 6 performance in Fort Worth, TX, followed by stops at casinos and theaters throughout the nation into June. So far, the outing consists of 20 concerts, including a string of Canadian shows beginning April 27 in Cranbrook, British Columbia and running through a May 6 concert in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The full schedule is shown at right.
Tickets for most shows are on sale now via Ticketmaster. Fan club members can also purchase meet & greet passes for many of the upcoming performances at Travis' official website.
Travis, who last month was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for the duet "I Told You So" alongside Carrie Underwood, continues to support 2008's "Around the Bend." The set, which marked the performer's first country album in eight years, peaked at No. 14 on The Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the magazine's Top Country Albums chart and followed his 2005 gospel album, "Glory Train: Songs of Faith, Worship and Praise." That collection earned him a 2006 Dove Award for Country Album of the Year, as well as a Grammy in 2007 for Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album.
Travis will find out if he's walking away with a trophy when the 52nd annual Grammy Awards take place Jan. 31 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
