Prince sets new kickoff date for Hit n' Run tour

Prince, staying true to his characteristically secretive fashion of revealing his touring plans, announced on Thursday (11/02) that he will perform Tuesday night (11/07) in Worcester, Mass., and Sat., Nov. 11 in Philadelphia, according to the event promoter. The Massachusetts event is now the first date on the artist's upcoming Hit n' Run tour, which now comprises a total of seven dates that extend into December.

Earlier this week, Prince announced stops in Virginia on Nov. 8 and Las Vegas on Dec. 9. Tickets for both of those shows, as well as the newly announced Massachusetts and Philadelphia shows, are set to go on-sale on Saturday (11/04). Tickets to the Nov. 8, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9 shows are being handled by Ticketmaster; tickets to the Nov. 7 show are being handled by tickets.com, according to the event promoter.

The four recently announced concerts add to Prince's initial trio of dates, which comprises consecutive Sunday night stops in Cleveland, Ohio, on Nov. 12; Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 19; and Charlotte, N.C., on Nov. 26. Tickets for those three dates, which were announced last month, have already gone on sale.

Prince's penchant for being secretive about his touring plans apparently includes keeping his own camp in the dark, according to his official website.

"NOBODY... but the Sparksman knows xactly where the HIT N' RUN events will manifest," reads a note posted on the site. "Not even the band."

A film crew has been assembled to make a concert film and documentary of the upcoming tour, according to the site.
