Lady Gaga protests canceled

A controversial Baptist Church reverend canceled his plans to protest Thursday (1/7) night's Lady Gaga concert at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, according to the Daily Riverfront Times. Rev. Fred Phelps and the followers of his Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church--known for flaunting its "God Hates Fags" slogan, which it uses as its website address--pulled the plug on the demonstration because of snow.

Counter-protesters that had planned to rally against the reverend also canceled their plans to demonstrate at Gaga's show.

Phelps--who is pictured in the newspaper holding blatantly anti-gay protest signs--had planned to protest the performance because the "hussy ... teaches rebellion against God," according to the RFT.
