The Doobie Brothers Gallery Spotlight: Las Vegas, NV - Jan. 2, 2010

Things seem to be in a comfortable place these days for veteran rockers The Doobie Brothers', comprised of founding members Tom Johnson and Pat Simmons, along with guitarist John McFee, drummer Michael Hossack, bassist Skylark, keyboardist Guy Allison, saxophonist Mark Russo and drummer Ed Toth.

In a recent press statement, Johnson expressed enthusiasm for the chemistry of the group's current lineup. "This formation of the band has been together for 20 years, which is as long as we've had any lineup. There's no drama, and the joy in the music is evident; it's a pleasure to be able to share those good vibes with the audience. It's magic." Fans can look forward to a new as-yet untitled album from the band this yearâ€"the first in a decade.

After an epic seven-month 2009 tour, The Doobie Brothers will be spending most of their time in the studio this month, but they will be making at least one appearance: a benefit concert to honor Norton Buffalo on Jan. 23 at The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. The band will perform alongside Steve Miller, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis and Roy Rogers. Funds raised will help cover the medical and funeral expenses for Buffalo, their longtime friend and collaborator.
