The xx plans spring North American run

London-based indie-pop/rock outfit The xx has mapped out a springtime trek of North America as the group continues to support its recently released eponymous debut.

After finishing up European and Australian tour legs, The xx will hit the road stateside beginning March 22 in Baton Rouge, LA, and wind its way along the East Coast before crisscrossing the country through late April. Two Canadian performances are also on the books: April 13 in Vancouver and April 20 in Toronto. The full schedule is shown below.

The quartet unveiled its debut album, "xx," on XL Recordings imprint Young Turks in August. The set, which was the first album recorded at XL's in-house studio, according to the band's website, peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart and at No. 19 on the magazine's Independent Albums chart.

The xx also made several "Best of 2009" lists with its debut set, coming in at No. 2 on NME's Albums of the Year, No. 3 on Pitchfork Media's Albums of 2009 list, No. 9 on Rolling Stone magazine's Best Albums of 2009 and taking The Guardian UK's Album of the Year honor.

Videos for "Basic Space" and "Crystallized," two singles from "xx," are currently streaming at the band's MySpace page.
