Ani DiFranco continues 'Red Letter' roadwork

Ani DiFranco is now set to be on the road in North America well into spring as she continues her trek in support of last year's "Red Letter Year."

The Grammy-winning songstress will return to the stage Jan. 20 in Rochester, NY, again backed by Todd Sickafoose on upright bass and Allison Miller on drums. Since last check, 21 new shows have been sprinkled throughout the itinerary, which keeps DiFranco touring around the eastern portion of the continent. The outing is currently scheduled to wrap up April 18 in Omaha, NE. Details are below.

Special guest Gaby Moreno will open most shows through early February, while Erin McKeown will provide opening support for the second half of the tour.

DiFranco released "Red Letter Year" in September of 2008. The set marks the singer's 20th studio effort on her own Righteous Babe label and her first release since relocating to New Orleans and becoming a mom.

"When I listen to my new record, I hear a very relaxed me, which I think has been absent in a lot of my recorded canon," DiFranco said in a press statement. "Now I feel like I'm in a really good place."

Earlier this month, DiFranco unveiled a new live album in her Official Bootleg Series. The latest set--which is available at DiFranco's website--captures her 19-song Sept. 2007 performance at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre and includes the tracks "Napoleon," "Landing Gear" and "Little Plastic Castle."
