G. Love & Special Sauce head out on winter run
G. Love & Special Sauce will take on a full slate of winter dates early next year as the Philadelphia outfit continues supporting last year's "Superhero Brother."
The road trip gets underway Feb. 3 in Oxford, MS, and crisscrosses the nation over two months' time. The club and theater run will touch down in 40 cities through the April 3 conclusion in Austin, TX. Details are shown at right.
G. Love & Special Sauce revealed "Superhero Brother," the group's 10th full-length album, in the summer of 2008. The Brushfire Records release peaked at No. 63 on The Billboard 200.
G. Love--born Garrett Dutton III--began a supporting tour behind the set earlier this year after undergoing laser surgery last fall to repair a bleeding vein on his vocal cords. The procedure required the musician to take two months off from singing and go a week without talking at all.
In September, the G. Love & Special Sauce unveiled "Long Way Down," a 12-track set released exclusively in Australia.
"We wanted to do a special release for Australia and include a number of different tunes that haven't been released anywhere else," the performer explained in a press release.
