Ed Roland plays Atlanta holiday benefits
Collective Soul's Ed Roland will perform two benefit concerts Dec. 19-20 at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA, according to a press release. Proceeds from the holiday shows will benefit two Atlanta charities: The First Tee of Atlanta and The Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeepers.
Roland, along with fellow Collective Soul members Dean Roland, Will Turpin and Joel Kosche, will be joined at the concerts by David Garza and local artists Michael Tolcher, The Less and Michelle Caplinger, among others.
In a statement, Roland said, "I have always loved coming home to Atlanta and being with my family for the holidays. I started putting on these charity concerts at Eddie's Attic as my way to give back to the Atlanta community."
The First Tee of Atlanta's mission is to positively impact the lives of the community's young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
The Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeepers is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the river, its lakes and tributaries for the people, fish and wildlife that depend upon them.
Collective Soul, which recently released its eighth studio album, is firming up touring plans for the spring of 2010.
