Luther Vandross hits the road solo
Luther Vandross is set to embark on a solo headlining tour next month, according to tour organizers. The 12-date jaunt is scheduled to get underway on Nov. 21 in Rochester, N.Y.
Vandross will spend the latter part of November canvassing much of the Northeast, and will follow the initial New York date with stops in New Jersey, Washington D.C., Virginia and Connecticut. The R&B singer will close the month out in Detroit on Nov. 30.
December dates begin on Dec. 3 in Indiana, after which Vandross moves to the West for three California stops. The singer's current itinerary ends on Dec. 11 in Seattle.
Tickets are on sale now for the opening night, the Nov. 22 stop in New Jersey, the Nov. 27 stop in Virginia and the Nov. 30 show in Detroit, as well as the three December dates in California and the Dec. 11 stop in Seattle.
Vandross' most recent album of new material is his 1998 release, "I Know." In November of last year, he also released "Luther Vandross: Greatest Hits," featuring 14 previously released tunes. The singer spent late-August and most of last month on a co-headlining tour with Boyz II Men.
