David Gray draws new 'Line' on road

Singer/songwriter David Gray has lined up a spring headlining tour as he continues to support his most recent studio album, this summer's "Draw the Line."

The British performer kicks off the outing March 11 in Houston, with the trek running a little more than a month long and concluding April 15 in Orlando, FL. Dates are below.

Gray's eighth studio album, "Draw The Line," surfaced in September. The self-produced set, which was recorded in London, features duets with Annie Lennox and Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jolie Holland. A deluxe version of the album adds a bonus disc with live tracks recorded at The Roundhouse in London, along with a 20-page booklet.

The set marks Gray's first studio effort with his new backing band, which he assembled following his creative split with longtime collaborator Craig McClune in 2007. "It's the end of one thing and the start of another," Gray told The Irish Times in August. "Because there was a chapter and it's ended and now there's a new one. But also it's like, 'Don't cross this line!' It's confrontational, which is intentional. That's how I feel."

The singer's previous studio release is 2005's "Life in Slow Motion," which peaked at No. 16 on The Billboard 200, and spent two weeks in the top slot on the UK album charts.
