Justin Townes Earle watches 'Movies' on headlining trek

Singer/songwriter Justin Townes Earle has set up an early 2010 headlining trek as he continues to tour in support of his sophomore studio set, "Midnight at the Movies."

Earle--son of country-rock stalwart Steve Earle and namesake of the late singer/songwriter Townes Van Zandt-- kicks off the outing Jan. 26 in Indianapolis. The trek, which runs through a March 7 show in Alexandria, VA, will visit 23 cities in all; details are included below.

"Midnight at the Movies," the singer's second full-length studio album, surfaced in March on Bloodshot Records. The set follows his 2008 debut, "The Good Life," which peaked at No. 70 on Billboard's Top Country albums chart.

"Everybody who worked on the record definitely earned their place and earned their picture and earned a lot more than what I could pay them," Earle told the country music website Countrystandardtime.com recently of his backing group.

"It's really rare: I've had the luxury and the privilege of having pretty much a set group of people for my records. And even though I've only made two full-band records, that's still pretty astonishing."

In September, Earle took home the prize for New and Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards show in Nashville, TN.
