Type O Negative kicks off fall tour

Type O Negative has planned a fall tour that begins on Thursday night (10/26) in Albany, N.Y., according to the group's official website. The Halloween-season road trip coincides with the release of the group's forthcoming compilation album, "The Least Worst of Type O Negative," which hits stores on Tuesday (10/31).

Following the opening night in Albany, Type O Negative has October stops planned in New Haven, Conn., and Poughkeepsie, N.Y., before heading to Philadelphia for a Halloween performance. The tour continues in Boston on Nov. 1, with subsequent November dates scheduled throughout the U.S., until a Nov. 22 show in New York City.

"The Least Worst of Type O Negative" Halloween release--featuring songs from the group's prior albums, as well as previously unreleased tracks--is the follow-up to the gothic-rock act's 1999 album, "World Coming Down," which featured the single "Everything Dies." That track peaked at No. 37 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in November of last year.

The group's 1996 album, "October Rust," was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America this year for shipping over 500,000 copies. That disc featured the group's semi-successful single "Cinnamon Girl," a cover of Neil Young's 1969 tune.
