Raekwon sets sights on 'Cuban' road trip
Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon continues his current headlining outing late into the year as he supports his long-awaited new solo album, "Only Built For Cuban Linx... Pt. II."
The trek, which kicked off last week in the Northeast, continues Tuesday night (11/10) in Philadelphia. The tour runs into mid-December, hitting about 25 cities in all before concluding Dec. 18 in Portland, ME. Details are included below.
Released in September following years of delays, "Only Built For Cuban Linx... Pt. II" is the rapper's fourth solo album, and the proper follow-up to his 1995 debut, "Only Built For Cuban Linx."
The set, executive produced by Raekwon and Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, features appearances from several other Wu-Tang members, along with Busta Rhymes, Slick Rick, Jadakiss and others. The album debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, selling about 68,000 copies in its first week.
Audio samples and teaser trailers for some of the tracks on "Cuban Links" are available at Raekwon's MySpace page.
Raekwon, whose real name is Corey Woods, joined Wu-Tang Clan in 1993, and has used various alias over the years, including Raekwon the Chef and Shallah Raekwon. He has appeared on all five of the hip-hop crew's five studio albums, including 2007's "8 Diagrams."
