Delbert McClinton stays busy with late-year dates

Blues-rock singer/songwriter Delbert McClinton will head out on the road later this month for a late-year run of headlining dates in support of his latest studio effort, "Acquired Taste."

The veteran Texan performer launches the trek Nov. 7 in Kinston, NC, and has lined up dates well into 2010, with a batch of nine shows in November and December representing the bulk of his current schedule. Full routing information is included below.

"Acquired Taste," McClinton's first new studio album in more than four years, surfaced in August on New West Records. Produced by Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones), the set is also available in a deluxe edition containing performances from one of McClinton's appearances on the long-running PBS show "Austin City Limits."

Streaming audio samples from the "Acquired Taste," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart, are available at McClinton's website.

The new album follows 2006's "Cost of Living," which scored the singer his third career Grammy award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
