Marilyn Manson adds dates to upcoming tour
Marilyn Manson has added nine more dates to his upcoming Guns, God and Government tour, according to his official website. The road trip in support of his forthcoming album, "Holy Wood," kicks off on Oct. 27, and now has dates scheduled into December.
New dates added to the run include the first Canadian stop on the itinerary, set to take place on Nov. 18 in Toronto. A Nov. 28 stop in Detroit has also been added.
December dates begin on Dec. 1 in Madison, Wis., and will see the tour touch down for one night each in Illinois and Indiana. Ohio stops are also set in Toledo, Columbus and Cleveland, with the final date on the current run set for Pittsburgh on Dec. 9. Tickets for the Dec. 7 show in Columbus go on sale on Oct. 26, and tickets for the the Dec. 5 show in Toledo go on sale on Nov. 3, according to Ticketmaster.com.
Oct. 26 has also been tagged as the date for an Internet pre-sale of tickets to both the Nov. 16 show in Philadelphia--the second of two consecutive nights at the Electric Factory Ballroom--and the Nov. 24 show in New York City. The general on-sale date for both shows is set for Oct. 28, according to Ticketmaster.com.
Tickets have already gone on sale for most of the previously announced shows. No other on-sale dates for the new batch of shows were available at press time.
"Holy Wood," the follow-up to Manson's 1998 album, "Mechanical Animals," is set for release on Nov. 14. The video for the album's first single, "Disposable Teens," is scheduled to debut on MTV's "Total Request Live" on Wednesday (10/25), according to Manson's official website.
Manson can also be heard on the "Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows" soundtrack with the song "Suicide Is Painless," a cover version of the theme from the 1970 movie "M*A*S*H." The "Book of Shadows" soundtrack was released on Oct. 17, and also includes songs from Rob Zombie, P.O.D., Tony Iommi and Dave Grohl, and Queens of the Stone Age.
