The Flobots map late-year headlining tour
Alt-rockers The Flobots have lined up a lengthy late-year tour as the band continues to support last year's re-release of its 2007 album "Fight With Tools."
The Denver-based band--fronted by the group's only constant member, Jamie "Jonny 5" Laurie--kicks off the outing Nov. 12 in Las Vegas. The trek will hit 24 cities through mid-December, wrapping with a pair of shows (12/17-18) in Boulder, CO. Dates are below.
"Fight With Tools," the band's debut CD, surfaced originally in 2007 but didn't make much of a splash commercially. Following its re-release in spring of last year, the album shot up the charts 168 places to peak at No. 15 on The Billboard 200 after the single "Handlebars" received heavy play on modern-rock radio stations.
The band recently completed work on a second studio album with producer Mario Caldato (Beastie Boys).
"We've taken it up another level musically," guitarist Andy Guerrero told ColoradoDaily.com last month. "We've all grown as a band and as songwriters. We changed things up a bit, but its still a Flobots record."
The set is tentatively due for release early next year.
