Metric tacks US dates onto 'Fantasies' tour
Canadian indie rockers Metric have added roughly a dozen US shows to their forthcoming North American tour behind their latest studio set, "Fantasies."
The trek, which gets underway Oct. 15 in Kitchener, Ontario, focuses on the group's native land for the first month, after which a 14-city swing through the eastern half of the US is planned. The current schedule concludes with a Dec. 2 show in Dallas. Details are shown below.
More dates will be announced soon, according to a press release.
The band issued "Fantasies," its fourth studio album, in April. The self-released set, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers charts and peaked at No. 76 on The Billboard 200, is Metric's first full-length collection of new material since 2005's "Live It Out."
"This new record was about ending the fragmentation of my existence," frontwoman Emily Haines stated at the band's website. "People are allowed to have multiple identities--you're somebody online, you're somebody else in public--in multiple dimensions, scattered across the world. I wanted to bring all that into one place, one band, one record. I want to be one person."
"Fantasies" is currently streaming in its entirety on Metric's website; a free download of the lead single, "Help I'm Alive," is also available.
