Jewel readies for acoustic trek
Jewel will follow up a recent two-week summer run behind her recently released album, "Lullaby," with a more extensive acoustic tour this fall.
The singer/songwriter will return to the road for an Oct. 27 concert in Baltimore, followed by stops in 16 cities throughout the eastern half of the nation. The journey, which will feature opening support from songstress Meiko for the first half of the tour, wraps up Nov. 15 in Fort Worth. The full schedule is below.
Along with traditional tickets, Jewel will offer fans in each city a VIP meet-and-greet package complete with backstage access and autographed memorabilia, as well as an opportunity to interview the singer in the Almost Famous contest. Fans can enter via Jewel's website and one person per show will be selected at random.
"Lullaby," Jewel's eighth studio set and her first independent release, hit shelves in May. The 15-track album, done in partnership with Fisher Price, features 10 original songs and five childhood standards including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
Jewel signed on to the season eight of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" along her husband, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, last year, but the singer had to give up her spot due to injuries suffered just prior to the show's kick-off. The Alaska-native became a pop star after her debut album, "Pieces of You," hit shelves and radio airwaves in 1995.
