Silversun Pickups set to make audiences 'Swoon' again
Indie rockers Silversun Pickups have revealed fall North American headlining dates as the band continues to support its spring album release, "Swoon."
Following a pair of festival appearances--Aug. 28 at San Francisco's Outside Lands and Aug. 29 at San Diego, CA's Street Scene--the Los Angeles-based outfit will kick off the headlining trek Sept. 14 in Cincinnati, OH. Manchester Orchestra will head opening support for the outing's first half; Cage the Elephant will take over that role for the October dates. Details are included below.
Following the North American tour, the band will head overseas for a run of European appearances. Those dates can be found at Silversun Pickups' official website.
"Swoon," the band's sophomore studio effort, surfaced in April on the Dangerbird label. The album, which was produced by Dave Cooley (J Dilla, Rolling Blackouts), debuted at No. 7 on The Billboard 200, with sales of 43,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The set follows the band's 2006 debut, "Carnavas," which was also produced by Cooley. The group also released an EP, "Pikul," in 2005.
