Zac Brown Band ready to 'Break Southern Ground'
The award-winning Zac Brown Band has mapped out its "Breaking Southern Ground" tour, the group's biggest national headlining outing to date behind last fall's "The Foundation."
The two-month trek will touch down in 20 cities, beginning with a Sept. 4 performance in Duluth, GA. Along with the arena shows, the band will also stop by the Austin City Limits Festival Oct. 3 and NASCAR's AMP Energy 500 in Talladega, AL, Oct. 31. The full schedule is shown below.
Three Atlanta-based musicians--Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey and Nic Cowan--will join the country band on tour; all three are signed to frontman Zac Brown's new label, Southern Ground Records.
A handful of lucky fans in most cities will get the opportunity to experience Brown's signature recipes as part of a special "eat-and-greet," while everyone will witness the collaboration of all the musicians performing together throughout each concert.
"When people come to our show, we want them to smell the food cooking, taste our favorite recipes, watch the light show, listen to some great new artists and feel our excitement," Brown said in a press release. "A full five-sense experience."
"The Foundation," the country group's first major-label studio set, claimed the No. 2 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart after it's release last November and spawned three Top 10 singles: "Chicken Fried," "Whatever It Is" and "Toes."
Earlier this year, the Zac Brown Band took home an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Group and a CMT Music Award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Chicken Fried."
