Whitesnake bails on Judas Priest run due to illness
Whitesnake canceled its remaining dates supporting Judas Priest after frontman David Coverdale came down with laryngitis at a Denver-area concert last week.
The singer, who stopped just four songs into the set at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Aug. 11, is "suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion," according to a note posted on Whitesnake's website.
"The doctors told us we were fortunate this was caught at a stage where no apparent permanent damage has been caused," the website announcement reads.
The English pop-metal outfit has been on a stateside trek with Judas Priest since July 1; the summer run wraps Aug. 23 in Gilford, NH.
