Bob Weir, Phil Lesh plan Furthur shows in Oakland

Bob Weir will join former Grateful Dead bandmate Phil Lesh for a trio of September dates in Oakland, CA, under the Furthur moniker before taking is current Ratdog tour to the East Coast for a string of October shows.

The Furthur shows cap a busy year for the duo, on the heels of a 22-date spring tour with The Dead that wrapped in May.

Furthur will include guitarist John Kadlecik, drummers Jay Lane and Joe Russo and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. Chimenti and Lane are regular members of Ratdog, and Chimenti toured with The Dead as well.

After the three-date run with Furthur in Oakland, Ratdog will regroup for a pair of shows in Philadelphia and a five-night run in New York, split between the city's Grand Ballroom and Beacon Theatre.
