Yeah Yeah Yeahs extend 'Blitz' through early fall

Indie rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs have plugged some late-summer/early fall gaps in their schedule, with the band lining up fresh dates in support of its most recent studio album.

The group--which filled in for Beastie Boys as the headlining act at last weekend's Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago--has mapped a number of West Coast dates next month following the band's Sept. 6 slot at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival, including stops in Los Angeles (9/17), Las Vegas (9/19) and a pair of shows in Oakland, CA (9/9-10).

Later in September, the group will head to the East Coast for three additional shows, including a Sept. 23 date at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Following those shows, the band will head to England for a number of overseas gigs in November and December. Those dates, along with pre-sale information for select North American shows, can be found at Yeah Yeah Yeahs' website. US dates are shown below.

The band continues to support this spring's "It's Blitz!," the New Yorkers' first studio album since 2006's Grammy-nominated "Show Your Bones." The new record was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Arcade Fire) and TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, and features guest contributions from TVOTR's Tune Adebimpe and Kyp Malone, The Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurtsin, and saxophonist Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), among others.

"Zero," the first single from "It's Blitz!," hit radio airwaves in February. The song's video is streaming at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' website, along with the band's most recent single, "Heads Will Roll."

"It's Blitz!" peaked at No. 22 on The Billboard 200, a retreat from the band's previous effort, "Show Your Bones," which climbed to the No. 11 spot on the chart.
