The Used usher in new album with roadwork
With a new album titled "Artwork" in the pipeline, The Used are mapping out plans for a fall tour of the US.
The alt-rockers plan to launch the run with an Oct. 9 concert in Las Vegas, and about 30 shows are in the offing by mid-November. Dates and cities are listed below; venues and ticket-pre-sale information will be announced "soon," according to Reprise Records.
The Almost and Drive A will hold down the tour's opening slots.
The upcoming tour will come on the heels of the Aug. 31 release of "Artwork," The Used's follow-up to 2007's "Lies for the Liars." The latter album debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit singles "The Bird and the Worm" and "Pretty Handsome Awkward."
"Blood On My Hands," the first single from "Artwork," was downloaded more than 5,000 times from Apple's iTunes Music Store on the day of its release, according to a press release, marking the highest digital debut in the band's history. The song's accompanying music video debuted on MySpace, where it racked up 200,000 views during its first 24 hours online.
"Born to Quit," the second single from "Artwork," will premiere tomorrow (8/11) on iTunes, according to the group's publicist.
