Raveonettes take 'Control' on fall headlining trek
Noise-pop duo The Raveonettes will hit the road in North America this fall in support of their fourth studio album, "In and Out of Control."
The duo--singer/songwriter/guitarist Sune Rose Wagner and singer/bassist Sharin Foo--will make a couple of big festival appearances, Aug. 9 at Chicago's Lollapalooza and Oct. 3 at Austin, TX's Austin City Limits Festival, before kicking off the headlining run Oct. 14 in New York City. The 18-city outing will wrap up in mid-November on the West Coast. Dates are below.
The band has announced an Oct. 6 release date for "In and Out of Control," which was recorded in Denmark with producer Thomas Troelson.
Foo recently told AOL's Spinner.com that the new studio effort was shaping up to be, sonically anyway, "the ultimate light album," in contrast to last year's "Lust Lust Lust," which Foo called "the ultimate dark Raveonettes album."
Despite the upcoming album's lighter sound, "The lyrics are probably the most harsh we've ever written," Wagner added. "There's some evil stuff on there. There are issues about drugs and suicide and relationships and love ... stuff that you may find annoying."
