Poison's C.C. Deville hits the road with Samantha 7
Poison guitarist C.C. Deville is on the road this fall, touring with his side project Samantha 7, according to the group's publicist. The DeVille-fronted Samantha 7 began its U.S. tour late last month, and has dates scheduled into November.
The Samantha 7 tour kicked off on Sept. 27 in Ohio, and is currently scheduled to run until a Nov. 10 show in Phoenix. A number of additional dates are expected to fill the holes in the group's October and November tour itinerary, according to its publicist.
Samantha 7's self-titled debut disc was released in May. The group secured its record deal after an excerpt from one of its songs was featured in a VH1 "Behind the Music" episode that focused on Poison, according to an Associated Press report.
The album's first single "I Wanna Be Famous" is currently being used in the new WB television series "Grosse Pointe," according to a band press release.
Following the group's fall road trip, a European tour with Great White is set to take place in early 2001, according to Samantha 7's official website. Great White guitarist Michael Lardie is currently appearing with Samantha 7--normally a trio--as the group's touring guitarist, according to an interview with DeVille conducted by KNAC.com.
DeVille spent the summer touring with Poison as part of a quadruple bill that also featured Slaughter, Dokken and Cinderella. "Power to the People," Poison's latest album, was released in June.
