Joe Jackson plots road work behind "Night and Day II"

Joe Jackson and a new seven-piece band will take to the road in November to support a new album titled "Night and Day II" which is expected to hit stores on Oct. 24.

According to Jackson's official website, the concerts will draw heavily from Jackson's 1982 album "Night and Day" as well as from its forthcoming sequel "Night and Day II," but material from Jackson's entire career will be interspersed into the mix.

Jackson's North American dates stretch through December, and a European tour will open in January. Additional North American dates are planned for March and April, but have not been confirmed.

The theme of "Night and Day II" is 25 hours in New York City as seen through the eyes of several different characters.

On the new LP, Jackson edges back into the pop realm after releasing "Heaven and Hell" and "Symphony No. 1," two instrumental albums with a classical bent.
