Candlebox continues pushing 'Into the Sun'

Alt-rockers Candlebox have added another round of appearances to their in-progress outing behind last summer's "Into the Sun."

The US run continues Thursday (6/25) in Murfreesboro, TN, followed by shows throughout the Midwest and parts of the East Coast. The tour, which includes a three-night trip to Hawaii Aug.6-8, visits clubs, festivals and fairs through the Sept. 6 finale in Indianapolis. Details are shown below.

"Into the Sun," the group's fourth studio set and first new record in a decade, surfaced last July and landed at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. "Stand," the effort's first single, made it into regular rotation on alternative radio stations across the US; the track is currently streaming at the band's MySpace page.

The Seattle-based group's current lineup includes three of the band's four founding members--singer/songwriter/guitarist Kevin Martin, songwriter/guitarist Peter Klett and drummer Scott Mercado--as well as bassist Adam Kury and guitarist Sean Hennesy.

"People think life on the road is a dream," Martin stated on the group's website. "It isn't. It's lonely and often times, troublesome. If it weren't for the fans and their energy, I'd just as soon stay home. But that's what feeds the gypsy soul. That connection."
