Flogging Molly 'Float' across US

Celtic punk rockers Flogging Molly will mount a two-month US road trip this summer, all in support of last spring's "Float."

The first portion of the US outing begins with a July 3 headlining appearance at Rothbury Festival, followed by a 12-city East Coast run as part of the Vans Warped Tour. The Irish-American group will then head to Europe for a quick festival run in August before returning to the States for 10 dates along the West Coast. Los Angeles-based ska-rock outfit Hepcat will open the September shows. Details are shown below.

"Float," which followed the Floggy Molly's 2004 release, "Within a Mile of Home," dropped last March and debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, No. 1 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and No. 2 on the magazine's Alternative Albums chart.

"The writing comes as it comes," bassist Nathen Maxwell said in an interview with SoundSpike last year when asked if a new album was in the works. "I have a hard time sitting down and making myself do it. If it comes to you, it comes to you."

Along with the band's Oct. 3 gig at the Austin City Limits Festival, the punk rock outfit will also take part in the Arizona Fall Frenzy Festival Sept. 20 alongside Social Distortion, The Bravery, Ben Harper & Relentless7, among others.
