Owl City plots course behind 'Ocean Eyes'

Electro-pop outfit Owl City has unveiled a headlining tour of the US this fall behind its forthcoming sophomore album, "Ocean Eyes."

Owl City--the stage name of Minnesota musician Adam Young--will kick off the two-month trek Sept. 9 in Nashville, stopping by 33 clubs from coast to coast through an Oct. 31 set in Houston. Kate Havenevik and Unicorn Kid will provide opening support for the September shows, while The Scene Aesthetic and Brooke Waggoner will handle opening duties for the October gigs. The full schedule is below.

The road trip supports "Ocean Eyes," Young's sophomore effort, which becomes available digitally July 14 and hits brick-and-mortar stores July 28. The new record follows his full-length debut, "Maybe I'm Dreaming," which surfaced last spring.

Young's solo project has made waves via his MySpace page, with his posted tracks garnering more than 10 million plays and earning him a spot on MySpace's Top Unsigned Artists list.

Several tracks from the new album--including the first single, "Strawberry Avalanche"--are among those currently streaming at his MySpace page.
