Keith Urban broadens North American 'Escape'

With a sweeping spring, summer and fall outing already in progress, Keith Urban has added a handful of mostly Canadian stops to his "Escape Together" world tour.

Since last check, the country superstar has tacked on an additional 13 shows to the North American leg of the trek, which kicked off May 7 in Uncasville, CT, and continues June 5 in Cincinnati. Added to the itinerary were second nights in Calgary (9/19) and Edmonton (9/22), as well as two-night stands in Saskatoon (9/23-9/24) and Winnipeg (9/26-9/27). A few US appearances--July 23 in Sacramento, CA; Aug. 7 in Tulsa, OK; Sept. 11 in Seattle and Oct. 8 in New York--have also joined the current slate; details are included below.

Urban--who performed his latest single, "Kiss a Girl," with "American Idol" winner Kris Allen on the TV show's season finale last month--is pushing his fifth studio album, "Defying Gravity," which surfaced in March and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. His previous two efforts--"2004's "Be Here" and 2006's "Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing"--both peaked at No. 3.

The country crooner has been nominated for three CMT Music Awards this year: Male Video of the Year for "Sweet Thing," Collaborative Video of the Year for "Start a Band" with Brad Paisley, and CMT Performance of the Year for "Raise the Barn" with Brooks & Dunn. With online voting now closed, fans will have to wait to see the results, which will be announced during CMT's June 17 broadcast from the Nashville awards ceremony.
