CKY plans 'Carver City' road trip
Pennsylvania rock outfit CKY is preparing for a summertime club tour in support of the group's recently released album, "Carver City."
Beginning June 14 in Portland, ME, the quartet will perform at intimate clubs and theaters across North America through early July--including a 10-date Canadian leg--before heading overseas for a quick set of European shows. The rockers return to the States for a July 21 appearance in Tempe, AZ, followed by stops in 21 cities through the Aug. 15 finale in Philadelphia. Details are included below.
"Carver City," which hit shelves earlier this month, marks the band's fourth studio album and the follow-up to 2005's "An Answer Can Be Found." The set was recorded and produced at guitarist Chad I. Ginsburg's own Studio CIG after the group's members spent a year not on speaking terms with each other.
"When we finally got together to resume the sessions, we didn't talk about the past or what had happened," said Ginsburg at the band's website. "We didn't look back. The passion came back blazing, in a distinctly different, effective and inspiring way. Yeah, we took a year off by accident. But I really think it helped the music greatly."
CKY's music can also be found in a number of movies and video games, as well as the CKY video series--a collection of skate and prank videos created by Bam Margera, the brother of CKY drummer Jess Margera.
