Rancid set to open club tour in November

Rancid's first tour in nearly two years will take to the streets in November, according to the band's label. Fellow punk rockers AFI and the Distillers will also be on the bill for the outing, which is confirmed for 10 North American cities.

The current itinerary focuses on the Northeastern U.S. and the Great Lakes region, but a West Coast leg is in the planning stages as well.

The latest self-titled Rancid release (the band also released a self-titled album in 1993) was produced by Epitaph Records exec and former Bad Religion member Brett Gurewitz. The album was released in August on Hellcat Records, an imprint operated by Rancid's Tim Armstrong and distributed by Epitaph.

In July, Rancid picked up its second gold record certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (representing more than 500,000 records sold) for its 1994 release "Let's Go" (Epitaph). The band's 1996 album "And Out Came the Wolves" (Epitaph) went gold in 1996.
