Keb’ Mo’ plans to tour behind 'The Door'

Contemporary bluesman Keb' Mo', a Los Angeles native who took much of his inspiration from Robert Johnson and other Mississippi Delta musicians, is preparing to back the release of his fourth album with a U.S. tour.

The tour, which will visit theatres from coast to coast, is set to open in Maine in late October. The itinerary stretches into early December.

Keb' Mo's forthcoming release "The Door" (Okeh/550 Music) will arrive in stores on Oct. 10. The album was produced by Russ Titelman (Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, James Taylor).

"Slow Down," Keb' Mo's previous release, picked up 1999's Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album. It was the second Grammy for the musician, who was born Kevin Moore.

He was awarded his first Grammy in 1996, also in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category, for the LP "Just Like You."
