Tool adds shows to summer tour

Prog-metal veterans Tool continue fleshing out their summer concert schedule, adding six more shows to the middle of their previously announced itinerary.

The outing, which kicks off July 18 at Commerce City, CO's Mile High Music Festival, is now slated to hit 11 cities through early August. Before the run wraps up with a headlining performance at Chicago's Lollapalooza, the band will perform for audiences in Phoenix (7/21); San Antonio, TX (7/24); Alpharetta, GA (7/27) and Fairfax, VA (7/30), among others. The full schedule is below.

Tool's most recent album, "10,000 Days," which surfaced in the spring of 2006, debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 and earned the group two Grammy nominations. Rumors of an impending fifth studio album are swirling, though no confirmed information has been released.

When he's not fronting Tool, Maynard James Keenan is working on his other musical projects--the bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer--as well as tending to his Arizona vineyard, Page Springs Vineyards and Cellars.

"It's not a side project," Keenan said of his foray into the wine industry during an interview with SoundSpike last summer. "This is my future. I'm not The Rolling Stones. I'm not going to tour forever. It's my legacy."

Keenan will spend a couple weeks in June on a wine-signing tour of the US.
