King Crimson to tour North America this fall

King Crimson will set out on a North American tour next month, according to a group spokesperson. The prog-rock group is touring in support of its latest release "ConstruKction of Light," released in May.

After an early-October tour of Japan, King Crimson will get its North American run underway with three consecutive nights at San Francisco's Fillmore Theater on Oct. 19-21, and will cover much of the U.S. before winding up in Montreal on Nov. 23 and Toronto on Nov. 24.

In addition to the multiple-night tour opener in San Francisco, two-night stands are planned in Hollywood, Colorado, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and Boston.

The King Crimson lineup--which has changed repeatedly over the band's 30-plus-year career--currently features founding member and guitarist Robert Fripp, along with guitarists Adrian Belew and Trey Gunn, and drummer Pat Mastelotto.

Though the group is touring in support of "ConstruKction of Light," a live, 3-CD compilation entitled "Heavy KonstruKction" is also set for release on Oct. 7, according to Fripp's DGM record label. Plans are also in the works to release individual recordings of entire concerts that were recorded during the band's European tour earlier this year, according to DGM. Information on the latter can be obtained at KingCrimsonTV.com.
