Pat Green extends 'Jagermeister Country Tour'

Pat Green has tacked on more dates to his in-progress run on the inaugural Jagermeister Country Tour, with the slate now extending through early September.

The trek, which began Jan. 31, continues Saturday (5/16) in Coupland, TX, followed by a swing through the Midwest and parts of the West Coast. The country performer will finish up the outing Sept. 4 at Morrison, CO's Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Details are below.

Green released his latest album, "What I'm For," just days before the nationwide tour began. The record peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart while the lead single and title track climbed to No. 47 on the magazine's Hot Country Songs chart.

The Grammy-nominated singer, who recently sold out his sixth consecutive New York performance over the past three years, had a personal goal to surpass the success of his gold certified, 2003 breakthrough album, "Wave on Wave."

"If I listen to 'Wave on Wave' correctly, I'd say that I was very young writing those songs, but they were still good songs," Green said on his website. "Now I feel like I've finally come into my own and I want to write songs by a man, by a father, by a guy that kind of has a handle on the situation."

Green's previous studio effort, "Cannonball," surfaced in 2006 and reached No. 20 on The Billboard 200.
