Linkin Park wraps 'Transformers' recording

Linkin Park recently completed writing and recording the theme song for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," according to a press release. The band also will be contributing to the score, which is being produced by award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

The "Transformers" theme song, "New Divide," will make its worldwide radio premiere on May 18 and will be available for purchase at Apple's iTunes store immediately thereafter. The soundtrack is scheduled for a June 23 release, one day before the film hits theaters.

Recording and writing music for the film is Linkin Park's second project with director/executive producer Michael Bay; the first "Transformers" movie featured the band's single "What I've Done." The song also appeared on the group's most recent album, "Minutes To Midnight."
