Neil Young shares love of eco-cars on new release

Neil Young has taken the connection between cars and music to the next step with his April 7 release, "Fork in the Road," which features themes drawn from the musician's dedication to build a commercially viable electric power system for automobiles, according to a Billboard report.

Young has retooled his 1959 Lincoln Continental as part of the Lincvolt Project, a joint effort with biodiesel pioneer Johnathan Goodwin. The project and Young's prototype Lincvolt vehicle is reflected in songs such as "Fuel Line," "Johnny Magic," "Off The Road" and "Get Behind The Wheel."

A special edition of the album will include a DVD that features three music videos and a live concert video of Young performing the Beatles' "A Day in the Life."

Young also is planning a documentary about his Lincvolt car's first cross-country, gasoline-free road-trip. The DVD is available for preorder at his website.
