Unified Theory lands opening slot on Vast tour
Unified Theory--featuring former members of Blind Melon and Pearl Jam--will follow its current opening slot on the Counting Crows-Live tour with additional dates opening for Vast, according to the band's management.
The group's stint with Counting Crows and Live began on Tuesday (9/12) in Milwaukee, and is scheduled to run until that tour's Sept. 20 show in Sacramento. The band also has an in-store acoustic performance scheduled at Tower Records in Seattle on Friday night (9/15), according to its official website.
After finishing its run with Counting Crows and Live, Unified Theory has a headlining gig scheduled at Los Angeles' Viper Room on Sept. 21. The event will serve as the group's official album release party for its self-titled debut disc, which actually hit stores last month. The album features the group's first single "California."
The band is then scheduled to hit the road with Vast--touring in support of its latest release "Music for the People"--from Oct. 12 through Oct. 26.
Unified Theory is comprised of lead singer and guitarist Chris Shin, former Blind Melon guitarist Christopher Thorn and bassist Brad Smith, and former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen. Blind Melon disbanded in 1995 after lead singer Shannon Hoon died of a drug overdose. Krusen, meanwhile, left Pearl Jam shortly after completing work on that band's first and most successful album "Ten."
