Report: Rihanna's alleged abuse injuries 'horrific'

Singer Chris Brown's alleged assault on fellow R&B artist Rihanna left the female star with "horrific" injuries, according to TMZ.

The online gossip rag credits an unnamed law-enforcement source as saying that police took pictures of Rihanna's injuries, which the source described as "horrific" and "devastating proof of abuse."

The TMZ report goes on to say that the photos of Rihanna show the singer with "major contusions on both side of [her] face," as well as "serious swelling and bruising," a split lip, bloody nose, and bite marks on one of her arms and several fingers.

Rihanna reportedly claims that Brown struck her with his fists, but that no object or weapon was used in the alleged attack. She reportedly refused treatment at the scene, but was later checked out at a Los Angeles hospital.

In the wake of the incident, Rihanna's camp today announced that the singer has postponed a previously scheduled Feb. 13 concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with concert promoter Pineapple Concerts chalking the postponement up to "recent events involving Rihanna." A make-up date will be announced within two weeks, according to organizers.

Brown, meanwhile, has reportedly pulled out of a scheduled appearance at this weekend's 2009 NBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, and an upcoming Wrigley's DoubleMint gum ad campaign featuring the singer has been put on hold.
