Limp Bizkit Signs On For Cypress Hill's Smoke Out Festival

Limp Bizkit, (hed) pe and Zebrahead have been added to Cypress Hill's upcoming third annual Smoke Out festival, set to take place on Oct. 7 in San Bernardino, Calif., according to the event's official website. The three bands join a main-stage roster that already features Cypress Hill, 311, System of a Down, Pennywise, Redman and others.

The Smoke Out is scheduled to run from noon on Saturday (10/7) until 2 a.m. the following day, according to tour organizers. In addition to the main stage, a second stage will feature Taproot, Dead Prez and others. A stadium area featuring music provided by numerous DJs and techno artists--dubbed the Massive Stoned Garden--is also planned.

Rules for the Smoke Out festival--which was founded by Cypress Hill and presumably named with regard for the band's well-known love of marijuana--include a rule against opened cigarette packs, according to the event's website. Concertgoers will be searched at the event's entry points.

Cypress Hill spent July and August opening for Limp Bizkit on the band's free Napster tour. "Skull & Bones," Cypress Hill's third CD, was released in April, and features the song "(Rap) Superstar."

Limp Bizkit, meanwhile, plans to follow up its successful 1999 release "Significant Other" with a new album, "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water," set for an Oct. 17 release.

New albums from both Zebrahead and hed (pe) hit shelves last month. In addition to its appearances at the Smokeout Festival, Zebrahead can be seen opening for 311's fall tour. hed (pe), meanwhile, occupies the opening slot--along with Taproot--on Papa Roach's current tour.
