New Releases, Sept. 12: Christina Aguilera, LL Cool J, Boyz II Men, Barenaked Ladies, Others
Christina Aguilera follows the success of her multi-platinum, self-titled debut album with "Mi Reflejo" (RCA). The disc features Spanish-language versions of five of the tracks featured on "Christina Aguilera," including "Genio Atrapado" ("Genie in a Bottle"), which has been nominated for a Latin Grammy. Spanish versions of "What A Girl Wants," "Come On Over, " "Reflection" and "I Turn To You" are also featured, in addition to six new tracks.
Aguilera is in the midst of a U.S. tour, but has recently had to cancel a number of shows due to vocal problems. The singer's most recent performance took place at last week's MTV Video Music Awards.

"G.O.A.T. (The Greatest of All Time)" (Def Jam) is the latest from LL Cool J, and is the follow-up to his 1997 disc, "Phenomenon." According to the track listing, some of "G.O.A.T."'s 18 songs feature guest appearances by DMX, Method Man, Redman, Snoop Dogg and others. LL first broke into the mainstream 15 years ago with the release of his hit album "Radio."

Boyz II Men take the term "self-titled album" to new heights with the release of "Nathan, Michael, Shawn, Wanya" (Universal), an album whose title features each of the group-members' names. The disc is the Philadelphia quartet's first in three years. The group first tasted success in the early '90s with the release of "Cooleyhighharmony" and that album's hit singles "Motownphilly" and "It's Hard to Say Goodbye."

Canada's Barenaked Ladies are back with the release of "Maroon" (Reprise), the follow-up to the group's 1998 multi-platinum album, "Stunt." That disc featured the hugely successful hit "One Week," a song that was a mainstream radio staple and pushed the album past the 4 million mark in sales. "Maroon" was produced by Don Was, known for his work with a number of bands, including the Rolling Stones.

Hendrix-lovers, rejoice: "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" (Universal) box-set hits shelves this week. The guitar-virtuoso's posthumous, 4-CD set consists of alternate versions of previously-released songs, rare live performances and several unreleased tracks.
