Pete Townshend, Rachel Fuller partner with Best Buy
Pete Townshend and Rachel Fuller will perform Nov. 7 at the Troubadour club in West Hollywood, CA, as part of Best Buy's "In The Attic" series, which presents unique collaborations in intimate and informal settings, according to a press release.
A limited number of tickets to the event, which is being billed as "Rachel Fuller In the Attic with Pete Townshend and Friends," will be available through the Recording Academy's MusiCares Foundation; proceeds will support MusiCares' efforts to provide a safety net of assistance to artists and music people in times of crisis.
Some tickets also will be available through a Best Buy-sponsored radio promotion beginning Nov. 3; a limited number of tickets will go on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster beginning Nov. 6.
Best Buy also is releasing a 2 CD/DVD set, "Rachel Fuller Presents In The Attic with Pete Townshend and Friends," which features nearly three hours of music including performances recorded at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles and Joe's Pub in New York City. The three-disc bundle will be available exclusively at Best Buy beginning March 3.
In other Best Buy news, the Troubadour date is set to coincide with the opening of a musical instrument store inside the chain's West Los Angeles location. The "store within a store" will sell musical instruments and DJ gear. Best Buy plans to open more than 80 musical instrument stores nationwide before the end of 2009.
